Platinum Players is an exclusive website that offers luxury lifestyle products and services to professional footballers.
The website is the brainchild of Middlesbrough footballer Andrew Taylor. Andrew came up with the idea after he was ripped off by a company who had done some work on his house. When he spoke to several of his team-mates about his experiences he discovered it was fairly common, particularly amongst foreign players who had just arrived in the UK.
His idea was to set up a bespoke website specifically for players where they could get recommendations on everything from builders to jewellers, cars to holidays, security systems to interior designers.
Andrew said; "The idea of this website is not to make money but simply to help players find prestigious brands and companies that are trustworthy.
In July 2010 Platinum Players launched a text message service, Platinum Assist, making their exclusive database more accessible to its members. Platinum Assist allows its members to request information and contacts by simply sending a text message. Along with the introduction of Platinum Assist, the Platinum Players website is also being developed to be made available to all other professional sportspeople including rugby players, Formula 1 drivers, boxers and tennis players.
Speaking about the re-launch co-founder and Director of Platinum Players, Anthony Parker said "The feedback from our members has been fantastic, so much so that we wanted to open it up to other sportspeople. We also recognised the need for information on the move which is why we are introducing the text service."
